LIFE+ | Welcome on INTERNSHIP@ICDET, Nuria!

I am Nuria Fernández Cancelo, a 22-year old girl born in Santiago de Compostela (Spain). I am only child in a big family, but since I was very little I was raised with two of my cousins and now they are like my siblings. I started dancing ballet when I was 3 years old, then I continued with modern dance and now it is my favorite kind of dance.

At the age of 12 years old I started to study german at high school and when I became 15 years old I started being more interested on international issues, as well as learning new languages and travel around the world. When I finished high school I decided to study Economics at the University of Santiago de Compostela. On my third year I did one year abroad with the Erasmus + Programme at the Johannes Gutenberg Univerität in Mainz (Germany). After finishing my Erasmus year I came back to Santiago, my home city, and graduated this last summer 2020.

While I was on my last year of university I started thinking what I would like to do next, and as long as I did not have the opportunity to do an internship during my bachelor, I thought it was a good idea to go abroad to do my internship to prove myself and my limits, and learn a lot from this experience. So finally I went to speak with the head department of the international mobility issues at my home university and tell him my idea to do an internship abroad and how could I apply for it and a lot of questions regarding this topic. He told me it was a very good idea and that people are very happy with this type of experiences, so finally he told me about a page called EU4EU, wich is a firm that puts in contact local students with foreign firms who are searching for interns. At the end, I started searching for organizations hosting interns for more than 2 months, and finally I found out ICDET, which I thought it was a really interesting organization to do my internships as it is linked with my personal expectations.

Here, during my stay here in Sofia (Bulgaria) I would like to learn how to work on an international environment, as well as develop my soft skills and prove what I know and what I can learn from this internship developing as much as I can personally and professionally.
