European Year of Cultural Heritage launched in school in Malta

Following the launch of Valletta as the 2018 European Capital of Culture in January, Malta kicked off the European Year of Cultural Heritage on 15 March in a Maltese local school

The European Year of Cultural Heritage in Malta was officially launched by Dr. Owen Bonnici, The Hon. Minister for Justice, Culture & Local Government in Malta, who met the students and introduced them to the year's objectives and programme.

The event helped raise the students' awareness of the numerous activities and projects that will take place in Malta and all around Europe, and proved to be a remarkable occasion to highlight the fundamental role that young people play in protecting our cultural heritage.

The launch was widely featured in local newspapers, on television as well as through various social media channels.
