VOLUNTEER@ICDET | Weekly diary #48

In our third week in Sofia, we started by participating in the bowling event with our new friends from the ESN group, it was a fun activity for us as well as an activity where we could communicate more with foreign people by practising English. Afterwards, we organized a farewell night for our friend Murat and spent time cooking together. Afterwards, we prepared forms for our project and held meetings where we talked and brainstormed. Since it is a period when we are more adapted to Sofia, we do our shopping at the market and cook at home. It has been a week where we improved ourselves by making budget management, cleaning schedules for house layout, etc. We closed the week with an evening where we ate the Turkish dishes we missed in the Turkish restaurant named Turkuaz, which we just discovered.

1st week – The First Impression: One Week of Volunteers@ICDET in Hindsight

Our first impression of Sofia has been unique so far, and as each day passes we fall in love with the city more...

At first, we were astonished by the city and the buildings,the history and all. We made memories,later on to use it in our project. We got to know the city,transportation,foods,markets,people etc..

who are in similar positions as us and we also got to know each other a lot better as a group.

Aside from office hours, we gathered at the apartment to work at home office, even at night. These were the times when we thought deeply about the ideas and combined them as one idea to make it one big Project and that is; OUR STORY.
