We had a pleasant interview with our volunteer Rana Mutlu about her 2-month volunteering experience at ICDET. Stay tuned.
Goal of the workshop was to explain and implement a sustainable fashion approach to my team members. Our volunteer Rana aimed to raise awareness against consumer-driven days like Black Friday and similar events, emphasizing the importance of making conscious purchases based on their needs.
Rana started by creating a slideshow focusing on "Green Fashion," highlighting the significance of sustainable fashion. I discussed supporting brands and second-hand applications. She also explored ideas on what can be created from old T-shirts and fabrics, organizing a brainstorming board on the topic. She demonstrated the traditional technique of block printing and showcased how to apply fabric printing at home using household materials. Rana included a detailed video tutorial in an additional slide, which she shared with the team.
After the workshop, team members gained knowledge about sustainable fashion and successfully applied the printing technique. They acquired insights into recycling and reusing materials.
