ICDET / VOLUNTEERING & SOLIDARITY

Европейски
Корпус за солидарност

Volunteer. Grow. Make a difference.

Contribute to causes that matter, connect with people from different cultures and develop practical skills through meaningful community action.

Supporting communities. Creating opportunities. Growing together.

ABOUT THE EUROPEAN SOLIDARITY CORPS

Make a difference.
Discover what you can do.

The European Solidarity Corps is the European Union's programme for volunteering and solidarity. It connects young people with organisations and projects that benefit communities, promote inclusion and encourage cooperation.

Activities can focus on education, culture, the environment and other community needs. Participation is an opportunity to contribute, develop skills and learn alongside people with different experiences.

Standard volunteering and Solidarity Projects are for people aged 18–30. You can register from 17, but activities start from 18. Your country of residence and the specific opportunity determine eligibility.

Humanitarian Aid Volunteering is a separate ESC strand with an upper age limit of 35 and additional requirements. This page focuses on regular volunteering and ICDET's work.

HOW TO START

Start with your interests.

The ESC portal connects prospective volunteers with organisations. Build a profile that reflects your motivation and the causes you care about.

01

Register

Create your EU Login account and European Solidarity Corps profile through the official portal.

02

Build your profile

Add your interests and preferences. Keep your information up to date so organisations can understand your motivation.

03

Find a project

Explore opportunities and apply to suitable projects. Organisations may also contact you when your profile matches their activities.

04

Prepare to participate

Use the available online training and discuss the tasks, learning goals and support arrangements with the project team.

Registration does not guarantee a placement. The portal also connects participants with training and community resources; selection and practical arrangements are confirmed for each activity.

VOLUNTEERING IN ESC

Meaningful work. Shared experience.

Join the daily activities of an organisation in your own country or abroad. Volunteering combines a contribution to the community with non-formal learning and personal development.

INDIVIDUAL VOLUNTEERING

Contribute to an organisation.

2 weeks–12 months

Work with a host organisation on community-focused activities. Long-term placements last 2–12 months; shorter individual activities are also available under the programme rules.

TEAM VOLUNTEERING

Create change together.

2 weeks–2 months

Collaborate with volunteers from different countries in a shorter, shared activity with a clear community purpose.

Volunteering is full-time, normally 30–38 hours per week. Duration, tasks, eligibility and support are specified in each opportunity. These are programme formats, not a list of currently available ICDET placements.

ESC & ICDET

Solidarity is part of who we are.

At ICDET, volunteering connects personal growth with social impact. We welcome international volunteers in Bulgaria, help young people in Bulgaria explore opportunities abroad, and connect participation with mentoring, training and follow-up.

Every volunteer contributes ideas, perspectives and experience to our community. Together, we support local action while developing lasting relationships across cultures.
